frequently asked questions
Q: How long does it take you to address envelopes?
A: That depends on the number of envelopes, sets of inner and outers or just outers and the time of year. Generally, plan on a 10-14 day turn-around for 100 sets. Advance booking (along with a $50.00 deposit that is applied to your order) is recommended for peak wedding season. But please check with me, sometimes I can fit in a last minute job.
Q: How do I submit my mailing list? Place card list?
A: You can either email me your list or give it to me in person when you give me your envelopes. My email address is fk729@comcast.net.
Q: What format should my mailing list be in?
A: Your list must be TYPED, but it can be any format that is easiest for you. I CANNOT work off of a hand written list – sorry!
Q: What is the proper way to address the envelopes to my guests?
A: Outer Envelopes:
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jones
123 Main Street, Number 4
New York, New York 10021
Inner Envelopes:
Mr. and Mrs. Jones
OR
Tom and Mary
In certain cases, you may want to change the way you address the envelope to your guests. For example, you might prefer to address your guests by their first names only with no formal titles. I am happy to discuss any special requests that you might have!
Q: Can I send you parts of my list at different times?
A: Sorry, but NO! I need your COMPLETED list before I begin your order. I get concerned that I may miss something when clients keep sending additions or corrections while I am in the midst of your job.
Q: What about mistakes?
A: I proof all of your envelopes prior to delivery, but I am not a super-hero and sometimes I make a mistake! I will re-do any errors on my part on a priority basis at NO CHARGE of course! Client errors/changes that require re-do’s are charged the same price as initially and may be charged a rush-order fee if applicable.
Q: I have more names to add in later. How does that work?
A: I try to be as flexible as possible in completing your additions, but that is why I stress the importance of the initial COMPLETED list. I may be in the midst of completing another job or rushing to meet a deadline. I want to be as helpful as possible, but it is difficult to process repeated “one more’s”.
Q: I haven’t ordered my invitations yet, is there anything I should know first?
A: I would first recommend that you contact Lani Silvers at Write Occasions. You can reach Lani at lksilvers@comcast.net, www.writeoccasions.com, or (303) 366-7483 for all of your invitation needs and questions. Beyond that, I would recommend that you consider your mailing list – if you have many long/hyphenated names, and/or long addresses, a small envelope may not be suitable for you. Also, I recommend ordering 15-20% extra envelopes to cover mistakes, corrections, and last minute additions.
